feeling good feeling great

ok, so today has been the first day in eight or nine days that i awoke without feeling absolutely dreading the day ahead due to illness. after raining steadily for a few days, the towns weather has rounded off and is fairly pretty today. the actual city of nosara is flooded and is most likely drying itself out this morning a bit and getting ready to get back to business. interesting how so many people live here in million dollar homes and a huge amount of people live here in a space that floods every time it rains heavily. seems like with a bit of community power something could be done to help the people that serve, clean for, and work for all the wealth in the area. weird. anyways, i have been eating oats, brown rice and lightly cooked veggies for a few days so the thought of a club sandwich with a milkshake for dessert sounds like bars of gold in my bank right now. i have lost some lbs. which is awesome. i miss my mommy. we are about to head into the high season which brings tons of tourists and property owners that visit two or three times a year. looking forward to seeing familiar faces and having social stuff go on again. it is somewhat like a very tranquil exile so far this season. not completely unpleasurable though. i have been watching a bunch of older programs and movies recently...murder by death, a fave from my childhood, wonder woman, incredible hulk, buck rogers and battlestar gallatica, the old one. fun stuff and interesting seeing what we thought was good special effects and acceptable story lines and gimmicks. i saw a wonder woman with leif garrett in it that was particularlly loose on the plot. fun though.

getting it together

so here it is, monday and i have been in the bed and close to the potty for five days straight. it was a crappy, excuse the pun, run of illness and i finally made it to the pharmacy where i paid right over five bucks with no insurance for the medication i hope helps heal my ways. not much to mention except i watched a lot of tv this weekend. i tried to go through the da vinci code and i was da vinci bored. kimora was too much for me, as is usual. i think i would have to shoot myself if i was her assistant. it rained a ton here so much so that my friend brendas whole compound was flooded extensively. it looks like a whole lot a mud. so not much to mention. much love to all and to all a good day.

so i have been totally ill for a few days now and have only just today been ok enough to walk away from the house for long enough to hang out online. i have been watching television non stop which usually i would adore but it has been a bit maddening. eating chicken broth, and ginger ale. i look like a waif model now. great diet but not the most fun. everything here is going alright. pretty uneventful. still in the rainy season so very few people around. watching movies, collecting seashells, working about 18 hours a week, just started doing some online work with a guy i met here which may turn into to something more lucrative and it would be something i could do anywhere. pretty cool. hope everyone is doing well. and sorry for the somewhat boredom central blog lately. just pretty tranquilo here.

sunday

i am up early today and it is a beautiful day. so far, rainy season has been pretty easy. we have had lots of fun times in the house during rainy spells but it has actually been really beautiful and sunny enough that you can run out and walk on the beach if you are concious of when the sun shines and when it looks stormy again. i am increasingly aware that we are amassing a lot of art and handicraft from the areas around us. any trip we take, we come back with lots of things. primitive folk art is basically what we are after, and masks. we are really getting a collection of masks of all different ilks. this is pretty much the same as when we visited. we bought similar items. today we are going to do crafts and watch bobby. sounds international, huh. not so much. we may comb the beaches for shells and drift wood for craft projects. hope all is well in the states. much love to all. dmob supreme

do you know the way to san jose?

so we took a trip to the country's capital and big city, san jose. it is very much so like a lower to the ground, late eighties new york city. we saw odd people walking around, performance art, scammers, seediness, junkies, park after park, art, mosaic, old architecture next to new and modern forms, shopping nonstop, and food that you cannot find anywhere else in the country aside from san jose. it was quite the experience. the botanical gardens we visited were other worldly with plants that we had never seen before compiled by a private gardener then turned over to the country for a tourist attraction. very beautiful. i have added photos from my trip onto my flickr account and hope all will enjoy. the traffic there was insane and there were so many one ways it was like a rat maze. by the time you got somewhere, you wanted a drink and a towellette for tears of joy and of irritation of not being able to follow any direction given . there are no copyright laws here so you would see puma, nike and abercrombie to name a few that were fakes. there is a free trade agreement with the u.s. that is under talks and many here do not want that to happen cause the u.s. will screw up the way these people live and make, as usual, the rich richer and the poor poorer. sadness. it is highly opposed by the people. from a distance i am still watching the political warfare going on for the seat in the white house. it all seems so weird to me. cant we all just get along. i am glad jodi is back in the saddle. thanks for the comment and i will try to blog more. it seems, i go through times where i do not want to be at the computer at all. ok, much love yo. bye for now...flickr pics under atarieyes,,,check em out.
